About form magazine
A space for ideas, culture, and aesthetics
FORM Magazine is Duke University's premier arts & lifestyle publication. At FORM, we strive to encompass the best of style, art, design and travel, as embodied by the publication’s purpose to be a space for ideas, culture, and aesthetics. Though not a physical space, FORM is a place to engage in critical reflection with human culture, including art, design, style, travel, food, creative writing, music and more. We produce a biannual print magazine every December and April, distributed on campus and in the wider Triangle area. In addition, we regularly publish online content for our readers on this website.
In our style editorials, we hope to engage readers in a visual dialogue between elegant, timeless style and ever-changing fashion trends. In our art and design articles, we aim to foster design-conscious and culturally informed conversations on campus and beyond. In addition, our features on artists and photographers showcase Duke’s emerging creative talent. In our travel and culture articles, we hope to make the Duke community increasingly aware of unique experiences that lie beyond campus through curated guides and interviews. Furthermore, we aim to offer nuanced commentary on the latest developments in culture whether it be through film, music or politics.
FORM Magazine aims to be central in championing Duke University’s creative sphere as well as cultivating a lifestyle of aesthetic appreciation, exploration and cultural engagement within the Triangle Area and beyond.
